Life can take some unexpected turns at times and some people may find they need help through those times of crisis. Imagine helping somebody, perhaps physically homeless or simply feeling hopeless by bringing them into an environment where they can get HELP, CARE & SUPPORT. This is where Nightlight can help people find their way.
How Does NIGHTLIGHT Work?
Our fully equipped street van goes out into our community all year round. With a team of volunteers, we visit certain designated locations on a weekly basis to help the lonely and provide a hand up for those in need.
Street Services We Provide:
* FREE Community BBQ and Dinner
* We prepare freshly made Coffee, Tea and Hot Chocolate
* We serve fresh food and bakery goods
* We provide quality “Backpack Swags” for our friends who are sleeping rough, as well as blankets, jumpers, beanies, gloves and socks, if they desire them.
* We also provide toiletries with personal hygiene products.
* Our caring volunteers are always there with a listening ear and a shoulder to lean on.
Going The Extra Mile:
~ Nightlight goes the extra mile for anyone needing our help and support in whatever way we are able to.
~ We help provide information and take care of referrals and transportation to and from Detox or Rehab Centres.
~ Unfortunately we have people who find themselves in a position of distress or danger. When they contact us, we attend to them if it is safe to do so. ICR=Immediate Care Response
~ Nightlight also has many connections with other community programs.
